Street Fighter II (1991) changed the genre of fighting games forever. It has become a worldwide phenomenon thanks to new characters and improved gameplay. All eight fighters became a legend in the history of video games and are easily recognizable to this day – especially Chun Li, the first female hero in the genre. Each character had his own branded movements, such as Sonic Boom Gaila, for which they will be recognized for many years. Ordinary strikes became possible to bind together, and special techniques created a combo system – now it is the backbone of any fighting game.
