Successful work on the iPhone is not an invention from Apple’s advertising. We explain how to achieve this in three simple steps.
There are two opposing views about the iPhone. The first is that it is a terrible devourer of time. The second is that the smartphone allows you to raise productivity to the skies. True, as usual, somewhere between these extremes. iPhone can really be made the ultimate gadget for work. But I have to work hard.
Okay, I know the answer is already ready. In all social networks are to blame. But while the problem remains an abstract regret, there will be no solution. It’s time to take the time account seriously.
First you need to install the Moment tracker. The program is designed for those who want to get rid of the digital dependency (or at least its most neglected forms). Immediately make a reservation – unlocking all functions, like advanced statistics, costs $ 3. This is a one-time purchase, no subscriptions.
Then you need to set the daily limit for using the smartphone. Do not be naive, put with a margin – at least more 2 hours per day. Every 15 minutes before the smartphone you will receive a notification about the expiration of the timing or exceeding the limit.
In addition, Moment will remind you twice a week. The first time, requesting data about the use of the battery, and the second time – sending a weekly report with usage statistics. Most often, the results are disappointing: you can find that the iPhone takes away 1-1,5 days a week. The main thing is to pay attention to the key sources of procrastination. What applications are most voracious?
Yes, the answer, probably, will not change – in all the social networks are really to blame. But when you find out which of them harm the working rhythm and how much time is wasted, it is easier to act. In my case, it was enough to remove Instagram – and the statistics immediately became much healthier.
Of course, it is impossible to take into account the specifics of each profession and task. Therefore, the universal council, which will decide everything, will not be either. But you can agree on some starting points.
Everybody takes notes and is used by task managers. At least, it still did not bother anyone. Notes help you not to lose sight of important details, and problem books – it is sensible to assess the upcoming business, without wasting time.
Let’s go through these categories.
Todoist – cross-platform application by subscription. Without fashionable design, but with attractive features: advanced recognition of natural input, convenient tree structure of projects, opportunities for teamwork.
In addition, Todoist can count karma, keeping track of the pace of tasks. There is even an artificial intelligence in it: the task manager is able to automatically prompt a favorable date for the fulfillment of tasks.

Things – A program running in the Apple-ecosystem: on iOS, watchOS and macOS. There are no subscriptions, you will have to pay for clients separately. The third version is incredibly beautiful and minimalistic design, deep integration with the system (including support for Siri) and many attractive trifles.
For example, a convenient option for creating a daily schedule: in one block tasks are formed “for the evening”, without a specific deadline. Although Things does not support natural input recognition, there is another feature in the mobile client: a “magic” button Plus, with which you can easily add both individual tasks and entire areas and projects.

Reminders – Some things get for free. “Reminders” is a standard application preinstalled on all iPhone, iPad and Mac applications. At first glance, it is too simple to satisfy someone’s needs. In fact, the program can come in handy. Just remember about its features: tasks can assign a date and time, priority, add notes.
In addition, there are reminders for location: then the notification will appear when you visit (or leave) a certain zone on the map. Finally, on the side of “Reminders” – the speed of work, native support for Siri and reliable synchronization between devices.
Bear – subscription service, in the free version of which is limited to synchronization between devices and export settings. The application captivates with a laconic interface and an easy content management system. Notes are grouped by tags that support multiple levels of nesting.
And you do not need to remember them – the autocompletion system works. Bear also has a web clipper to save articles from the browser. There are other pleasant trivia: linking between texts, advanced filters for searching (you can search for notes assigned for today, notes with tasks or without tags), different formats for export (from HTML to JPG and ePub).

Evernote – one of the oldest and still cool cooler services. Evernote allows you to create thematic notebooks, combine them into collections, assign tags and location. Inside the notes themselves, too expanse: there is advanced formatting, support for tables, inserting Google documents, editing PDF.
From notes, you can also make reminders, show them in the form of presentations, or attach sketched drafts. Mobile version also allows you to qualitatively scan documents and business cards. A web clipper with different settings for saving text is another strong point of Evernote. With careful use, Evernote turns into an indispensable knowledge base that helps organize both workflow and leisure.

“Notes” – Yes, another standard application. You need to be careful with it: with a sloppy approach, “Notes” turn into a real dump from the rough text. It is important to remember that the program can do many things: notes can be divided into folders, fixed, inside you can add checklists, tables and format text.
In addition, it is a convenient way to store important data – you can protect records using a password or Touch ID / Face ID. Of the most recent features worth noting support for collaboration and scanning documents. The main thing is that all this is available for free and works on every modern iPhone. At the same time, the speed of work and search for “Notes” is also impeccable – and this is a big plus.
Even after removing all the clients of social networks from the phone and stuffing it with useful software, you can still use the iPhone as a time killer. Usually this is not because of the desire to procrastinate – people just do not know what to do and in what order.
If you already understand that you can do some of the work on the iPhone, detail the process. Write yourself a small manual that will help organize everything in your head.
For example, I need to write a text – and I know that right up to its registration on the site, the iPhone will cope with it. The instruction looks like this:
For other professions and tasks, the sequence will be different. Someone will manage the planning stage – and will transfer serious work to the desktop. Someone, on the contrary, is able to integrate a complete “production” cycle and work exclusively on the smartphone. The main thing is to fix this in a personal manual, not relying on your own memory. The rest will come with experience – the more often you stick to the established actions, the easier and faster they will be performed.
