Electronic Arts, finally, Battlefield: after Battlefield 4, Battlefield released 1, followed by the announcement Battlefield V. But, at least, the latter name is now officially explained.

Players have long had a theory that Battlefield V sign "V" means not the Roman numeral 5 and the letter "V" referring to the word "Victory" – that is, to the word "victory". However, at the official presentation of Battlefield V comedian Trevor Noah made fun of this theory, assuring that we are talking about the figure.

✌ this represents “V for Victory”. The phrase and sign were popularized by Winston Churchill and used amongst the allies for much of WWII. It’s also why we chose to use the Roman numeral.

But now it turned out that the gamers were still right, at least in part: a fan theory confirmed by the developers of the game. The official Twitter account of Battlefield V they reminded players that "V stands for Victory" – this phrase and the corresponding sign popularized during the Second World War, Winston Churchill.

The developers still have not found out why they were in the game "Five" and Roman is for reference to the most popular phrase "V for Victory".
